Carolina Springtime starts in January, right before the first freeze of the year. The running gag for the Carolinas and much of the South is if you don’t like the weather wait 10 minutes. 80 degree days followed by 40 degree nights followed by icy rain, is a typical day for winter in most of the Eastern Carolina’s.

Starting in late February to Mid March. Right in time for March Madness, we have our yellow snow period. Do not wash your vehicle during this time as it will be a fruitless endeavor and your car will be yellow again before you leave the car wash. This yellow snow, or Pine pollen, is the curse that keeps on giving for those who have any kind of allergy.

If you can hold on through yellow snow, mad temperature changes and the springtime rain, you get to see something amazing. Azaleas. Here we have one of the first festival’s of the year in Wilmington North Carolina, and Arlie Gardens is not a sight to be missed. Wonderful food, beautiful flowers and a chance to walk through history.

Carolina Springtime is not something to be missed, and is quite possibly the best time to visit the Carolina’s. I am blessed to call Southeastern North Carolina home, and Cherish God’s beautiful awakening each year. Letting us know that (despite the yellow cars, and sneezing). We have made it through another Winter and can enjoy the fruits of his labor.

God Bless Y’all.
